This week in class and lab we worked on our booklets and doc sharing. Our group met today and we decided to our project on our organization (Skills). Through google doc we were able to share our introductions to our blogs which will hopefully help us with our booklets.

Our group met today to discuss the layout of the concept map and finish up our blog. Evaluations of website will be posted Friday. If anyone knows what is meant by "do they have a built in bias towards the information?" please explain it to me. Thank you very much.

Concept Map
Concept Map
I chose to do my first concept map on something that pertains a little more to my major. I picked out just a few of the disabilities that interest me, and some that I will hopefully be working with in the near future.
With my concept map I started with the main idea “Disabilities” and took the three sub categories’; Acquired, Developmental, and Physical, and split them up. I added side notes attached to all of them explaining a little bit about how each of them differs. From each of those categories’ I added some of the types of each disability. I really like the fact that with this program it can automatically switch it from a diagram into an outline if you chose to do so. I also realized it puts it into a slideshow and separates all of your information for you into each slide.

About Me
My name is Jaclyn Bryant, I currently live in Lock Haven, PA. I am double majoring in special education and social work. I am employed through Skills of central Pennsylvania and I love my major because everything I have learned so far pertains to my job.I am an RSA and I take care of individuals with disabilities. I don't really plan on working for or with any sport organizations when I graduate. I do hope to get my degree and work as a program specialist in the special education field.
I'm not sure I would have taken this class online if it had been offered only because there should be hands on learning before doing everything web-based. I have had a little experience with online courses but most of them were also face-to-face and I didn't do well remembering work that was due online as well as what was do in class, which even though it was my fault it just made me dislike online classes. Although, like most students I do like the freedom you get to have though online learning.
Not too much interesting in my life.. I work full time; go to school full time; and sleep the rest of the time.

This is where I spend most of my time. I am so blessed to work with the clients that I do & their families. |
